So I heard from the Manoa International Exchange program. I was at Starbucks randomly checking my email and there it was! As I was staring at the subject title, flashbacks of what happened to me last semester popped into my head. Last semester I applied to study abroad in Japan through another study abroad program at my school, but unfortunately didn't get in. I was crushed and that was one of the worst days in my life to date.This email was addressed to me and this other girl. Just the 2 of us. Right when I saw the words "I AM PLEASED..." I got excited! Apparently we were both nominated to go to Doshisha University (同志社大学) in Kyoto. Kyoto wasn't my first choice (or any of my choices for that matter) but I feel flattered that the coordinator personally took me into consideration still knowing that the first 3 schools I originally chose were full. So even though Kyoto isn't flourishing with all the latest Japanese fashions, Kyoto is still a beautiful and historical place and I'm honored that I'm going to be studying there.
Sadly, even though I'm in the same country as my bff, Monica, we're still far apart! I'm still making it out to Tokyo though! That's for SURE! I guess on the bright side, Kyoto is pretty much in the middle of places like Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe and Nagoya. I'm planning on staying in Japan for a year, so hopefully I'll have enough time to do the things I want.
With that said, it's time to save money!

I've been looking forward to doing this pretty much all my life!!! :) well, even though I got accepted through my school, i still have to apply to the school i'm shooting for. idk how it works really but since i've gotten the confirmation that i've been nominated hopefully it means it's a set thing either way!
