Makeup Review: FACEit Power Perfection BB Cream

Hi guys!

I'm back with a brand new review video for you makeup lovers out there. I'm reviewing a BB cream I bought from the korean makeup shop: The Face Shop and I absolutely love this BB cream!

FACEit
Power Perfection BB Cream
SPF37/PA++
02 Natural Beige
(around $38.00USD)

Claims to improve skin problems, including bagginess, roughness and dryness.
Reenergizes the skin through power lifting, power moisturizing and power correction effects. Wrinkle improvement, whitening, sunscreen. Contains omega -3 and the Vita-skin complex.

Why I bought it:
I was looking for a BB cream that doesn't dry out my skin but at the same time not feel like it's suffocating it. I wanted the right amount of moisture and coverage from the BB cream.

The Product:
This BB cream comes in two shades: 01 (Light Beige) and 02 (Natural Beige). I bought mine in Natural Beige.

Here's my video review (don't forget to like & subscribe!)

The Verdict:
I feel like this BB cream holds true to what it claims to do to your skin. Upon application, It already starts to hide my imperfections (fine lines, blemishes, uneven skin tone). There's no unpleasant smell either. It's pretty thick and a little really really does go a long way. My skin doesn't feel oily but neither does it dry out. It actually gives my skin that healthy dewy look. I also have dry patches on my face and it doesn't aggravate it at all.

Price:✦✦✦✧✧ (It's a bit pricey, but that's to be expected from a good asian BB cream)

Coverage:✦✦✦✦✦ (I gave it a perfect score because it does cover VERY well. )

Application:✦✦✦✦✦ (Easy application)

Fragrance:✦✦✦✦✧ (Non-fragrant but still has that "makeup smell" to it. Very tolerable)

BEFORE application. Sorry for such a scary pic lololol

f(x) Amber's 피노키오 (Danger) MV makeup tutorial

Hey ya'll! I'm back with another video (damn I'm on a roll!)
This time it's my FIRST makeup tutorial! It's a quick one actually, inspired by one of my favorite idols in k-pop. Have you guessed it yet? It's Amber of f(x)! And since I still have my blonde hair, I figured I should give it a go. Just in time for Halloween too haha.

I absolutely adore her makeup in the Pinocchio (Danger) MV, it's definitely my kind of style. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video :) The only thing I'm upset about is that the most important part in the video, the eyeliner part, is missing because I wasn't aware my camera shut off! BOO. Well, I hope you enjoy anyway! And please, enjoy my no make-up face as well! hahaha~

p.s. I'm not really good at makeup, I just do whatever I feel like looks good to me lol.

Review: Stippling Brush (youtube review)

Finally! A new vid. I was a bit too excited about this brush. I'm amazed at how well my foundation looks when I used this wonderful gift from the heavens. Enjoy!

I'll probably be making a tutorial on how I use the stippling brush a little later on :)

review: Missha Perfect Cover B.B. Cream

Missha
Perfect Cover B.B. Cream
SPF40 PA+++
NO.23
¥2150

"MISSHA M Perfect Cover B.B. Cream offers a novel skincare concept with B.B. cream which lightens skin tone by healing visible wrinkles and blemishes with excellent skin-cover ability and prevents skin-aging through effective whitening and anti-wrinkle properties" (as it states on the product package)

--- WOW! Really? What more could you ask for?

Why I bought it:
During the summer my skin started acting up ESPECIALLY on my face. It was the worst time EVER, to the point where I cried myself to sleep every night. I'm all healed now and I'll save my skin-disaster story for another post.
My skin was red, itchy and very flaky. I know I probably shouldn't have been using makeup on my face that time anyway but I was desperate to cover up the redness. I've read reviews on how this miracle BB cream covers redness and also moisturizes and stays moisturized throughout the day. Some people even claimed it healed their skin. Desperately seeking some kind of makeup cure, I bought it.

The product:

This product comes in 4 shades. No. 13 (milky beige),  21 (light beige), 23 (natural beige), and 31 (golden beige).  I got mine in No. 23. At the store though,  I only saw No. 21 & 23.

It comes in a pump tube which I like.

⓵ When product comes out, it's just little bit. But that bit actually goes a long way.
⓶ When you first spread the product out,
it turns into a grayish tone but soon afterwards blends into the skin tone.
⓷ It does blend well though!

The verdict:
When i tried it at the store I was sold but when I tried it on the next morning I realized it was a bit too heavy for me and the florally fragrance that I thought was nice and light smelling was a bit too strong for me.
This is just me however. I did like how it blended well with my skin tone but as for coverage, it was like other BB creams I have tried in the past.  Did it cover up my redness? Yeah, it did a little but all in all I honestly would rather stick to Maybelline's BB Mineral Mousse (my review on it here).

I bought this product during the summer time and I've only used it a couple of times. I am planning on trying this product out longer after my Maybelline BB Mineral Mousse runs out. ~

Price:✦✦✦✧✧
(Price isn't TOO bad, but I think the price could be brought down a bit. I'm guessing it's the brand.)
Coverage:✦✦✦✦✧
(Nothing special, but it still covers well)
Application:✦✦✦✦✧
(Goes on smoothly it's just pretty thick)
Fragrance:✦✦✦✧✧
(I think it would be better if it was non-fragrant. It's not a bad smell but it's a bit too strong for my taste.)

If anyone has tried this product I'd love to hear your thoughts on this!
Did this BB cream work well for you?
Did you have the same problems as me?

If there are any other questions or you'd like to hear my thoughts on anything else about this product, feel free to ask!

UPDATE (02/08/2012)
So I gave this BB cream another chance! And I have to say I've grown to like it. The floral scent doesn't bother as much and actually, a little bit of this product goes a long way. I do start off with a primer before putting this product on. I also found that this goes on smoother (for me) when applied using my fingers rather than a brush or a sponge.

review: MAYBELLINE PURE BB MINERAL MOUSSE

MAYBELLINE PURE BB MINERAL MOUSSE (spf30)
Ultra Light Texture
about ¥1680

Quite recently, a lot of hair dyes in Japan are turning into foam dyes to make it easier and less messy to dye your hair. I guess the foam craze caught on with makeup as well. Maybelline came out with a BB mousse recently and it's been getting a lot of attention. BB (blemish balm) creams are generally "healthier" to use for your skin rather than regular liquid foundations that can clog your pores.

Why I bought it:
Aside from seeing this product being advertised everywhere with a number one ranking, possibly being a makeup revolution and it being sold out at every drug store I go to, I decided to buy it because the liquid foundation I was using at the time wasn't agreeing with my skin. I've used BB cream before and my skin seems to do better with it. So seeing all the pros that this new BB cream had to offer, I had to try it. The weather in Japan (especially in Kyoto) is very intense and right now we're in the middle of summer so I wanted a foundation that will at least let my skin breathe a little.

The product:
I was really surprised when I first tried it. It was definitely something new! The can's nozzle was basically like a mousse-can nozzle. Don't let the moussy texture fool you, it looks very light and airy but a little bit of it goes a long way. At the drugstore I only saw one tone (Ultra Light Texture). I don't consider myself light skinned but this BB cream eventually blends well into your skin tone.

The verdict:
The way it comes out light and airy is exactly the way it feels on your skin. It feels really natural and so far I've sweated in it, wiped my face, worn it for hours and my skin faired pretty well with it! It doesn't smudge onto clothes either which is a major plus. The only con (for now) is that I think I still have to master the amount of mousse I need for perfect coverage but I know I'll be repurchasing this product again!

Eyelash Collection (Dolly Wink, Missha)

DOLLY WINK No.5 ("Real Nude" bottom lashes) These bottom lashes are surprisingly really comfortable. This was my 2nd attempt at trying them on (I'm still perfecting my bottom lash placement). Just as the name of the lashes imply, these lashes are "nude" I guess meaning that they are for more of a natural look.
These lashes were also given to me by my wifey, Monica
I used the Dolly Wink eye lash glue that was provided in the package.

DOLLY WINK No.4 ("Feminine Style") This style of lashes fan out towards the ends.  Reminds me of cartoon eyelashes like on Daisy Duck. Very feminine! As much as I wanted to like these lashes, these lashes were so-so. I guess they don't really match on me. I'll probably try to wear these on top of another pair of eyelashes. Caution when pulling off the old glue: the lashes come off quite off the clear strip very easily.

UNKNOWN BRAND No.0501 (bought at the dollar store) These lashes surprised me! I love how full they look. I still can't read the brand of these eyelashes though. I even tried to search for the kanji in my japanese dictionary but came up with nothing! These lashes were comfortable also. My eyes usually get watery from wearing certain eyelashes, but I did not have that affect with these! I'm definitely going to be buying more from this unknown brand.

MISSHA DOLLY EYELASH C-306
These lashes were just as amazing as the ones above. A bit more exaggerated but still good enough to wear on a daily basis. I prefer the full look. I do want to try these lashes on top of another pair. I bought 2 other styles in the Missha brand. I haven't got around to trying them on yet though!

CONCLUSION:
There are many things I like about Dolly Wink and a few things I don't like. I like and at the same time I don't like how the Dolly Wink eyelashes are *too* natural feeling. It's great that they are very lightweight and they feel like your own lashes but I feel that for certain styles of Dolly Wink, it makes it a bit harder to put on.
The cheaper brands that I bought (Missha and the unknown brand) They were firm and they kept it's shape. Even though they aren't as natural feeling as Dolly Wink, I somewhat felt more secure with the other brands. What are your opinions (to anyone who owns any of these)?

Playing around with the bottom lashes. 1) Wearing them 2) Took one side off 3) Mustache time!

That's it for today's post. Sorry for the picture qualities. I like things to be uniform but I've been busy with school (semester is almost over) and work (holiday rush!) so I had to take pictures of me wearing the lashes whenever I actually did where them out. Let me know you what you guys think! Opinions, suggestions, anything! :)

Oil-blotting? Let me grab my TOILET SEAT COVER!(?)

Yes that's right. TOILET SEAT COVERS.

Out of oil-blotting paper? Don't have time to run to the store? Night out on the town and notice that your face is greased up? Just head to the restroom and grab a piece of a toilet seat cover and blot away!!

When I first heard this from my co-worker I was like "SAY WHAAAAA?" and I just had to try it for myself! I head to my work's bathroom and reluctantly took a toilet seat cover and started blotting my face. To my surprise, it was absorbing my unwanted face oil!

What a great way to refresh your face when your in a pinch on that hot dinner date with no oil-blotting paper on hand!

Don't want to take my word on it? Do some research for yourself :) You'll be surprised! Or next time you find yourself in a (clean) restroom, grab that toilet seat cover and blot your face!

walk walk fashion baby

On Wednesday, my coworker who also does makeup, asked if I could model for some photos to use for her portfolio. I happily agreed to it! Her name is Shelley and she's going to try and apply at one of the makeup booths that you see in Macy's (MAC, BareMinerals). We were only able to get some shots because our main source of light (the sun) was going down and the winds were not in our favor, so we'll probably reschedule for another day! I do wish we got more close-ups of the makeup though.

始め! START!

Hi everyone! In this entry I'm going to be talking about some items I purchased today (mainly cosmetics).

First off, I received this item I ordered online in the mail today! It's a body adhesive for clothes, hosiery, theatrical make up, etc. I use it to hold up stubborn straps on clothes, strapless clothing items, strapless bras, etc! It's totally awesome and I think every girl should have one of these babys.

This is where I bought mine: http://www.ameswalker.com/itstayad.html

I first tried it out through one of my friends, Lani and obviously you can tell that I was sold! It washes off easily with water. No harm done to the skin or to clothes! Viola!

Next, Bliss' Fatgirl sleep (fatgirl slim products). I've done a review of all the fatgirl slim products (love handler, fatgirl slim & sleep) on livejournal, so I won't really go into detail here (feel free to let me know if you want me to explain more though). But all I can say is, this is my 3rd time buying this product. To me it works. I was afraid it was a gimmick when I first tried it out. I knew it was working because no one knew that I was using it, I'd get loads of good comments from friends, co workers and family that I look slimmer and often asked what I was doing. :P Well here ya go everyone! :D The small bottle is a facial cleanser from Philosophy called Purity. I like it, smells lemony and my face feels pretty nice and clean afterwards. This came free with my Sephora points.

MAKEUP! haha. I've been going on makeup missions lately with my friend, Lani. To me, I feel she always has the best advice for make up! She does her research ;).

At the very top we have Maybelline's Superstay makeup 24hr foundation (in pure beige). I've tried many foundations (drugstore brands to high end brands). So far I'm really liking this foundation. I don't know if it's the BEST one I've tried so far, but I do like it! It does stay on, my face doesn't get as oily or shiny, and the coverage is about medium. I say it's worth it.

Next is Rimmel's Sexy Curves Mascara (color black, waterproof). I've tried MANY MANY MANY mascaras and I always find myself crawling back to Covergirl's LashBlast. LashBlast has so far been my number one mascara (lengthens very very well. Keeps my eyelashes curled. Often get mistaken for wearing falsies). Before buying Sexy Curves, I wanted to buy the japanese mascara, Fairy Drops. It's very expensive here, so I did some research online and found out that Sexy Curves is the alternative for FD. I've also read it's one of the better mascara's out there. So, I bought it. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. It does lengthen. Eyelashes don't stay curled, and a few hours into the day, and the mascara smudges. I'll definitely be going back to LashBlast.

Lastly, Maybelline's Colorsensational lipstick (in Pink Sand. Mind you, the color is a lighter pink, this pic color is inaccurate). I'm not too fond of lipsticks. They tend to make my lips flake or they run. BUT THIS IS AWESOME. Another great recommendation from Lani. It almost doesn't even feel like lipstick. It's quite moisturizing too. She's done her research and she says there's Vitamin E in it so that's a plus! I'm going to be buying the other colors :) Red will be next!

Aside from makeup, I bought this knit vest (in grey) today! I've been on the hunt to find a cute knit vest, and I think I've found it.

That's all for today!
