it was a very very hot day in Hawaii. A truly “paradise” type of day I guess you could say. Sun was shining bright, clear blue skies, and the cool Hawaii trade winds.
---- MEMORIAL DAY 2010 ----
Started my day off with some fresh cut strawberries to snack on! Don't mind my strawberry necklace ^^ I thought it added to the picture hehe. It's with its family...in a way it's starting to make me think of Pinocchio. "I'm a REAL strawberry!"
There was a storewide 50% off at our Savers, so as much as I love my high-end brands, I’m about the bargain shopping too. That, and I love finding vintage items at a great price (I inspect them first of course.) I record shop, bag shop, shoe shop, accessory shop, knick knack shop and sometimes clothes shop at thrift stores. Pretty much the whole shabang. I met up with my friend, Lani and we set out on our treasure hunt for 50% off. We found a couple of items but decided not to buy. It was pretty crowded. I actually won a contest they had and earned myself $5 off my purchase for that day only. I don't think I was supposed to win though, the contest was to show your student ID and I guess I didn't hear him say the FIRST PERSON ONLY and there was a guy in front of me who showed his. I looked at the announcer guy with big anime eyes and he ended up giving me some too bwa hahahaha! Later on in the day though, I went back to Savers and I ended up finding a pretty much brand new UNIQLO 'Mary Boone' UT long top, and a vintage purse which apparently is a knock off of a Coach purse (I didn't know until I showed my friend, Janis and surprisingly she had the SAME BAG except she has the real deal).
After searching in Savers, Lani and I built up an appetite and had a MEAN craving for Curry House, so we decided to go to Ala Moana. It being Memorial Day, there was NO PARKING AT ALL. But we made the most of our little adventure finding parking. Many laughs. ALL WE WANT IS CURRY! We finally found parking and got our curry. After our lunch date, I remembered that Lani never tried crepes before so I suggested we go get crepes at Shirokiya's "Crepe Harajuku". The workers are so nice over there. We each got our crepes and she said she enjoyed it very much.
Then to end our day of many random laughs and memories, we decided to commemorate it with a purikura session!
