Memorial Day 2010 [IMG HEAVY]

I guess I'll start off this long image heavy post with a few outfits I wore to work this past week.

Dress: Le Grand Marqet
Stirrups: American Apparel
Pumps: Nine West
Belt: Charlotte Russe

I wore this outfit on Saturday. I just bought those American Apparel stirrups on Friday when I went to Ala Moana. I have other stirrups, but they truly can't compete with AA's quality. I'm hooked!

Dress: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Bag: (i forgot)
Shoes: Nine West

I totally forgot I had this dress until I was digging around in my closet! I love this dress…I love the way it drapes on my body and I love the print. Reminds me of a lotus.

Top: Charlotte Russe (a lot of things from CR, I work there ^^)
Boater Hat: Spiral Girl
Purse: Savers
Flats: Payless

it was a very very hot day in Hawaii. A truly “paradise” type of day I guess you could say. Sun was shining bright, clear blue skies, and the cool Hawaii trade winds.

---- MEMORIAL DAY 2010 ----

Started my day off with some fresh cut strawberries to snack on! Don't mind my strawberry necklace ^^ I thought it added to the picture hehe. It's with its family...in a way it's starting to make me think of Pinocchio. "I'm a REAL strawberry!"

There was a storewide 50% off at our Savers, so as much as I love my high-end brands, I’m about the bargain shopping too. That, and I love finding vintage items at a great price (I inspect them first of course.) I record shop, bag shop, shoe shop, accessory shop, knick knack shop and sometimes clothes shop at thrift stores. Pretty much the whole shabang. I met up with my friend, Lani and we set out on our treasure hunt for 50% off. We found a couple of items but decided not to buy. It was pretty crowded. I actually won a contest they had and earned myself $5 off my purchase for that day only. I don't think I was supposed to win though, the contest was to show your student ID and I guess I didn't hear him say the FIRST PERSON ONLY and there was a guy in front of me who showed his. I looked at the announcer guy with big anime eyes and he ended up giving me some too bwa hahahaha! Later on in the day though, I went back to Savers and I ended up finding a pretty much brand new UNIQLO 'Mary Boone' UT long top, and a vintage purse which apparently is a knock off of a Coach purse (I didn't know until I showed my friend, Janis and surprisingly she had the SAME BAG except she has the real deal).

After searching in Savers, Lani and I built up an appetite and had a MEAN craving for Curry House, so we decided to go to Ala Moana. It being Memorial Day, there was NO PARKING AT ALL. But we made the most of our little adventure finding parking. Many laughs. ALL WE WANT IS CURRY! We finally found parking and got our curry. After our lunch date, I remembered that Lani never tried crepes before so I suggested we go get crepes at Shirokiya's "Crepe Harajuku". The workers are so nice over there. We each got our crepes and she said she enjoyed it very much.

Then to end our day of many random laughs and memories, we decided to commemorate it with a purikura session!

Lani and Lani (Snow White)

Lol

FATTY! NOM NOM NOM

GREEN TEA!

Some of the purikuras we took. The ones of significance are the "crepes", "parking", "ebay boutique" and "all yellow or flecked with brown man?!" purikuras :)

----TODAY ----
I got my Seychelles order of shoes today! I'm so happy. these retail at about $90 but I snagged them for $12. I've been on the search for black flats and it's a plus that there's a small heel!! :)

Also picked up this bracelet set from work. I was doing shipment, putting accessories out and I saw these :) They are beautiful. It's a part of Charlotte Russe's Luxe line, so it was a bit expensive, but I get my 40% employee discount! Dangerous!! Lol. These bracelets were interesting because according to the tag, these were made in India.

That's all! Thanks to those who made it to the end :)

Another rainy day in paradise.

I ordered this Chanel wannabe top/dress from a Korean store online, so I’ve been pretty much dying to wear this out. Me and the boyfriend decide to go out shopping, so I took the opportunity. Living in Hawaii, something like this would be sorta hot to be caught in, but luckily the weather was very cold and rainy. PERFECT! I pretty much threw over the mesh knit oversized cardigan (although it is in size XS) just to add a little something to the outfit. A very simple outfit? I’m actually not quite sure. Maybe to some.

These are the first pair of shoes I wore with it. I originally wanted to wear boots, but then I felt that the boots were a little too much. (I have pics of this outfit with the boots later on down this entry.) I love these flats though so so much. Very comfy and I always get complimented on them! On the Seychelles website, there are flats that look exactly like these, but are around $80!! I got mine for $12 at Ross.

These are the accessories I wore. Now that I think of it, none of them match. :P Oh well.

So the next pic is features the outfit with the boots.

I love these boots. Very comfy and I love the color as well as how it has that loose effect around my leg. Not to mention the slight height it gives me :)

What do you guys think? Flats or boots? Pick one and tell me why :) Please and thank you! I'd love to hear your opinions!

If I were a boy.

My outfit for work. I don’t know why I chose this really. I was always a fan of menswear type of items on women. I bought the maroon menswear-esque top about a year or so ago, and I only wore it once. I really need to start wearing things I haven’t been wearing. I prefer pairing this top with leggings or opaque stockings, but it’s not long enough. I’d also would like to wear it with cigarette-style jeans but, unfortunately because of my body type, that’s a no-go. I’m wearing my nine-west peep toes (one of my dailies) but I ended up changing to some black heeled mary-janes.

What I purchased today. 2 knuckle rings and a knit mesh oversized cardigan. I love the details on the rings. As for the cardigans..I love any kind of cardigan. I say that, but at the same time I'm very picky about the cardigans I buy. I like this cardigan especially because of the oversize-ness, even though it's an XS. I love the way it drapes on my body, and I love the design of it. Hopefully I can get around to taking a picture of it being worn.
