I can feel summer around the corner.

Hot days call for no hair extensions, boater hat & loose tanktops. Taken before going to school. It's getting hotter in Hawaii and I'm not looking forward to it.

Bought these earrings at work yesterday. I thought they were adorable and it was unlike the accessories we usually get. The flower looks like it was knitted and then there's a white chain draped from it.

Sorry, picture quality sucks! But you can kind of sort of see it :P

Circle Lenses

I got my first pair of circle lenses today :)

Nudy Quarter color series (Golden Blue)
from dollfront.com. They have a lot of different styles and at very reasonable prices and fast shipping!
This is my first time wearing circle lenses and I gotta say these beat my regular contacts!
I now recommend dollfront.com to all my friends ;)

I look tired. This is from 7 hours of painting my room straight & then going to work right after.

I'll take better pics later. I'm tired. I'm almost done with my room! Can't wait to start decorating.

Getting there.

2 posts in 1 day! wow!

This is just a quick update:
I went to Home Depot and bought a gallon of Bher paint. I couldn't decide in what color I wanted, I was torn between a really subtle lavender color and a cream color. I decided to go with the cream, it just appealed to me more and I felt that it will help give the illusion of a bigger room and also brighten up my room too. I thought of my wood tile floors and the furniture in my room and felt that the cream color will suit them.

The color is called 'Belgian Cream'. Yummy right?!

I'm so excited, I want to start painting it right away! I can already feel myself being renewed.

The way I am.

I'm so lost right now. Like I feel like I don't really know who I am. For those of you who know pinksugarichigo or have her as a friend, you may recall her posting a blog about something similar to this. I am in no way copying her dilemma or anything like that. We both actually coincidentally are in the same state right now.

I just don't feel as creative as I used to. Honestly, before during high school and sometime after, my creative juices were always flowing. I was filled with ideas, and I put them to great use. Whether through art, making/editing videos, photography, graphic designing and even music. It made me happy and I felt as if I could be going somewhere with it. The past few years have been a rocky one for me where sacrifices were made here and there. I am happy with my life but personally, I feel lost. I feel like I don't know exactly who I am.

My room walls are currently green (as you can see in my pictures). I've painted my walls lime green back in 2000, mainly to match my Weezer poster (they are one of my favorite bands). I felt that through out high school and a little after, my room was the main area for my inspiration. I was full of color and I was into cutesy junk overload. It was clearly seen in the things I made that I love love loved colors.

I started getting into a more 'oshare' type of style, I'd say a couple years back. I felt myself maturing in a way and transitioning into more simple, classy, vintage type of stuff. This was especially seen through the way I dressed.

I think I've figured out who I am, and I'm happy with it. All is well right? well...

I still feel the creative juices flowing in me and I'm longing to make more art, music, videos, photography..but I feel like there's a block.

This may seem weird, but I think the first step to removing that block is to repaint my walls.
CALL ME CRAZY.

I guess whenever I walk into my room now, I feel like I'm forever in my teen years, and that shouldn't be the case. It's time to grow up.

We'll see if I'm right. Hopefully I can get to painting my room soon and I'll let you know.

P.S. if you haven't noticed, I changed my blogspot username :3

Online Purchases and semi update

Two of my online purchases came in the mail this past week!

My (hard to find) Rilakkuma iPhone case

and

My boater hat from nastygal.com

(my walls make all my pictures appear a lot more yellow/greener than usual! I'm actually planning on repainting my walls soon though)

Funny thing I was wondering: when I went to pick up my packages from the post office, I wonder what the worker was thinking when he grabbed the nastygal.com package. He had to check my name and all that and I'm pretty sure he glanced at the NASTY GAL sender address. Oh well.

I also just won this can can / boater hat (in beige) in an auction on ebay.
(picture taken from ebay.com)

One thing you may not know about me: I love love love to thrift shop (once in a great while). I love looking thru other peoples trash/treasure? I usually always find something I like, whether it be records, books, clothes, bags, shoes etc. I of course make sure it's still useable and presentable! This time on my thrifting adventures, I came across 2 Urban Outfitters tops, both are Kimchi & Blue brands. I was stoked. Kimchi & Blue usually sell their items in the $45+ range. These tops were pretty much brand new!

They might not look like much in the picture, but when worn, they are sooo gorgeous!

I also found a Beatles book, or rather a book that Ringo published called 'Postcards from the Boys' . It's a really cute book in my opinion, it features all the postcards that 'the boys' (John, Paul & George) had sent to Ringo even from after they broke up. It's so sweet to flip through them and read what they wrote and drew to each other. It makes me miss my friends.

In recent news too, my brother's girlfriend, Liz, came to me and gave me A LOAD of FREE makeup from L'oReal, Maybelline & HiP. She apparently has a friend who works at, honestly I forgot..but, her friend was able to get her makeup by the handful! I swear, I think there is at least close to $70 worth of makeup in the bag she gave me, if not, more! I'll do a review on them later on.

And I finally ordered my dollfront.com circle lenses. They should be here by Saturday. I'm super excited! I ordered the Nudy Quarter Golden Blue lenses (refer to my blog a couple blogs previously).

Me and my friend Lani are also trying to sing a duet together. "Existentialism on Prom Night" by Straylight Run. It's a beautiful song and I've always loved it and also has sentimental meaning to me. I'm playing the guitar & singing lead vocal while Lani comes in to harmonize with me. We did a couple of recordings but was always interrupted by something -__-. Maybe when I get a chance to edit the videos, I'll post one up here. I forgot how relaxing and fun it was to pick up the guitar, sing and harmonize. It makes me reminisce on when I was part of a band back in the day. Good times.

Lani & I pretty much did a bunch of stuff...wearing wigs!!!!

This was actually a screen cap taken from the many trials of videos we took XD She's actually doing a para para dance :3

I will master this!

There's always room for growth!!! In learning that is :)

So, lately I've been thinking about who I used to be and what I used to do. Who I used to be was someone who LOVED ART with a passion. I remember back in the day instead of carrying a purse with girly shit in it, it was my sketch book, a pencil / eraser and my CD player. HAHA! People who have known me from before know that I had a passion for drawing and people used to pay me to have me draw something for them! No joke. I thought it was weird though, because not like my drawings were anything compared to realism art or anything like that, mine was more of anime type of drawing. Cutesy stuff and all that junk. I did draw realism (or tried to) every once in a while...

I also remember that instead of going out and making friends, or hanging out with them, I'd rather lock myself in my room, stay at my "work" desk, drown myself in anime/video game OSTs or classical music and draw my life away. I got soooo pale from that. But it's what made me happy and kept me sane. Or did that make me look insane? Haha! Nevertheless, I was soooo happy with my life in art. I even wanted to become a manga-ka at one point. I still have boxfulls of amateur manga I used to create. I blush when I read them.

Anyway, I've had the urge to draw again, but to take it another step further, I'd like to paint them..in adobe photoshop. I've seen this done before, and it always fascinates me. I WILL MASTER THIS! Photoshop was and is a huge part of my life too. I used to tweak on it for hours when my brother first introduced me to PS4 (if I recall the version correctly).

To help me master this technique, I stumbled across this tutorial: http://www.markotusan.com/tutorials/001/?lokatord=001

So far so good. I think? What do you think..I'm not quite done with my practice ball, but feedback would be nice! My Beatles desktop background looks like John Lennon is critiquing my ball. Haha!
p.s. Don't mind my page layout. I'm currently working on it :)

Tiring weekend!

This past week has been a somewhat busy week...of partying! No, okay no, not really, but last week (April 6) was my brother's birthday. Since we all are in school at the moment, we decided to go out on April 8, which was a Thursday and is also the night when my brother DJ's at a soundbar in China Town called Soho (formally Club Pauahi [which I've played in back in '04 with my band!]) My brother is pretty well known (underground) DJ, and has been around since 1999-ish. Here's an article about him:

(If you're wondering how he got YOGURT, well, way back when, people used to wonder about our last name...Yamilao. They said it reminded them of the yogurt company Yami Yogurt. And there you have it.)

So if you're ever in the Honolulu area, make sure you visit one of Hawaii's finest ;) I'm always proud of my bro!

Okay so back to my blog. My boyfriend (Jacques), my friend (Lani) and my brother's girlfriend (Liz) had a blast celebrating my brothers birthday and enjoying the good music.

Me and my boyfriend :3 (don't mind the darkness in the pic, our friend's finger went slightly over the flash!)

Lani & Liz at the pool table! Workin' the poles! haha!

Me, my bf, my bro & his gf ♥

At the end of our night, we ended up at one of my brother's friend's art studio. I was pretty drunk at this point, so I forgot what his name was, but I do remember his artwork was really cool. I wish I took more pics of his works, but I noticed he liked to mix tribal elements with oriental elements with a hip hop twist to it. Pretty cool. I also liked his studio. It's in a high rise apartment and being there reminded me of the time when me & my friend, Janis went to visit the Academy of Arts in San Francisco when they brought us to the apartments where resident students lived.

OTHER then having a good drunken time, I've been online shopping a lot.

I bought this huge Cecil McBee tote (Rilakkuma wasn't included, this was from my friend Monika-chan who is my Korilakkuma!) The tote came with the May 2010 issue of Seventeen magazine. This tote is huge enough to hold my school books and folders! I ♥ it!

I've also had my eye on this for a while too! I finally got to order it!!! The words to The Beatles' Let It Be. I got it in heather gray/black font though. I still want the words 'let it be' in script underneath my right collar bone. I gotta keep nagging my parents to allow me to have one. Even though I'm old enough to do whatever I want, I still gotta ask permission for things!

I just ordered this Boater Hat. Oh geez, I've been on the hunt for a boater hat since the beginning of this year, and I think because I live in Hawaii, fashion trends don't reach here till like...a year later. I know it's a huge trend in Japan right now especially for the spring season. It's sooo cute I just have to have one! XD

I also ordered this limited edition Rilakkuma (brown ver) iPhone hard case! My friend (Monika), has the Korilakkuma version! And since I am her Rilakkuma, it'd be awesome if I had the Rilakkuma version ;) TEAM KUMACHI! haha.

and LASTLY, I'm (in the midst of) ordering my first pair of circle lenses! I was recommended to a site from pinksugarichigo and I have to say, their prices are very very reasonable! www.dollfront.com!

(image from dollfront.com)
This style is the 'Nudy Quarter' series. This color is Golden Blue. ME LIKEY! I like how it subtly blends in with the browness of the original eye color. It kind of gives it that gradient effect!

(photo from dollfront.com)
I also want this style in grey! It looks so beautiful and mesmerizing!

I really need to stop shopping for now though!! I need to $ave $ave $ave again X[

始め! START!

Hi everyone! In this entry I'm going to be talking about some items I purchased today (mainly cosmetics).

First off, I received this item I ordered online in the mail today! It's a body adhesive for clothes, hosiery, theatrical make up, etc. I use it to hold up stubborn straps on clothes, strapless clothing items, strapless bras, etc! It's totally awesome and I think every girl should have one of these babys.

This is where I bought mine: http://www.ameswalker.com/itstayad.html

I first tried it out through one of my friends, Lani and obviously you can tell that I was sold! It washes off easily with water. No harm done to the skin or to clothes! Viola!

Next, Bliss' Fatgirl sleep (fatgirl slim products). I've done a review of all the fatgirl slim products (love handler, fatgirl slim & sleep) on livejournal, so I won't really go into detail here (feel free to let me know if you want me to explain more though). But all I can say is, this is my 3rd time buying this product. To me it works. I was afraid it was a gimmick when I first tried it out. I knew it was working because no one knew that I was using it, I'd get loads of good comments from friends, co workers and family that I look slimmer and often asked what I was doing. :P Well here ya go everyone! :D The small bottle is a facial cleanser from Philosophy called Purity. I like it, smells lemony and my face feels pretty nice and clean afterwards. This came free with my Sephora points.

MAKEUP! haha. I've been going on makeup missions lately with my friend, Lani. To me, I feel she always has the best advice for make up! She does her research ;).

At the very top we have Maybelline's Superstay makeup 24hr foundation (in pure beige). I've tried many foundations (drugstore brands to high end brands). So far I'm really liking this foundation. I don't know if it's the BEST one I've tried so far, but I do like it! It does stay on, my face doesn't get as oily or shiny, and the coverage is about medium. I say it's worth it.

Next is Rimmel's Sexy Curves Mascara (color black, waterproof). I've tried MANY MANY MANY mascaras and I always find myself crawling back to Covergirl's LashBlast. LashBlast has so far been my number one mascara (lengthens very very well. Keeps my eyelashes curled. Often get mistaken for wearing falsies). Before buying Sexy Curves, I wanted to buy the japanese mascara, Fairy Drops. It's very expensive here, so I did some research online and found out that Sexy Curves is the alternative for FD. I've also read it's one of the better mascara's out there. So, I bought it. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. It does lengthen. Eyelashes don't stay curled, and a few hours into the day, and the mascara smudges. I'll definitely be going back to LashBlast.

Lastly, Maybelline's Colorsensational lipstick (in Pink Sand. Mind you, the color is a lighter pink, this pic color is inaccurate). I'm not too fond of lipsticks. They tend to make my lips flake or they run. BUT THIS IS AWESOME. Another great recommendation from Lani. It almost doesn't even feel like lipstick. It's quite moisturizing too. She's done her research and she says there's Vitamin E in it so that's a plus! I'm going to be buying the other colors :) Red will be next!

Aside from makeup, I bought this knit vest (in grey) today! I've been on the hunt to find a cute knit vest, and I think I've found it.

That's all for today!

Start anew.

Okay so, since this blog can't be used for the reason I wanted it to be.. I might as well just write here anyway. Which should I keep? LJ or this? What do you think?

I guess I can just talk about random things.
I'm thinking for my next post, I'll be doing reviews on cosmetics n such.

:)

How are ya'll doing?
